Shipping from Japan is Operating Normally
Your shipment to East Africa is not affected by the Middle East situation
Last Updated: March 19, 2026
1. The Middle East Issue Does Not Apply to Your Route
You may have seen news about Middle East disruptions and Suez Canal shipping problems. We want to reassure you: those issues do not directly affect shipments from Japan to East Africa.
Ships from Japan to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, DR Congo) and Mombasa (Uganda, Kenya) travel via the Strait of Malacca and the Indian Ocean. They do not pass through the Red Sea or the Suez Canal at all. Your cargo takes a completely different route.
2. Schedules Are Operating as Normal
Regular sailings from Japan to East African ports are departing on schedule. Estimated transit times are:
- Japan to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania / Zambia / Malawi / DR Congo): approximately 30–45 days
- Japan to Mombasa (Uganda / Kenya): approximately 25–40 days
These are consistent with normal conditions. There are no major delays specific to the Japan–East Africa route at this time.
3. A Note on Freight Rates

Our CIF prices always reflect the most current market rates at the time of your inquiry — and we work with multiple shipping lines to keep costs as competitive as possible. When you request a quote, you will receive an up-to-date, transparent CIF price with no hidden surcharges.
