• FOB Japan:
  • Price includes vehicle cost and loading at the Japanese port.
  • Shipping and insurance are arranged by the buyer.
• CIF Dar es Salaam:
  • Price includes ocean freight and marine insurance up to Dar es Salaam Port.
  • Vehicles are ready for pickup at the port upon arrival.

Note: Inland transport and registration after the port are arranged by the customer or your local logistics partner.

Malawi Import Regulations & Required Documents

Before importing used trucks into Malawi, please check the following:

• Import Duty & Tax
  • Customs duty is calculated on CIF value (rates vary by origin; e.g. non-preferential imports may attract higher duty).
  • Additional excise tax and import VAT may apply.
• Registration & Licensing
  • Register as an importer with the Ministry of Transport and Public Works.
  • Obtain a Motor Vehicle Importer Certificate (valid 12 months).
  • Register with the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) and obtain a TIN.
